FAQs

Medication & Treatment

We get asked this question often. Unfortunately, we do not offer insights into what specific medications our treatment plan entails. We serve each patient on a case by case basis. Dr. Dismond practiced primary care for 30 years and looks at each person as a whole to discover the best options for them.

Here is a list of common ADHD medications.

We cannot guarantee the prescription of any medication even if you have been previously prescribed. Our doctor does due diligence on a per-patient basis and finds the best option for you. This does not always mean patients will continue with the prescription they have been previously prescribed.

Insurance

We Offer Superbills. NorCal ADHD is a concierge medicine practice. This means we offer you premium service giving you constant contact with your doctor. We are considered an “out-of-network provider”.

This doesn’t mean your insurance will not cover our services. We provide patients with itemized receipts to seek reimbursement with your insurance company. Only your insurance company can verify your coverage. Many of our patients are able to successfully get some form of reimbursement for our service.

Due to the complexities of accepting insurance, we cannot offer our service to you unless you carry health insurance.

At this time we require all patients to carry health insurance in order to use our service. It becomes more difficult for us to properly serve patients that do not have insurance.

For instance, we may ask a patient to visit their primary care doctor or get lab work done if additional information may be needed for proper treatment. These expenses can be expensive and sometimes very difficult for patients without insurance.

Regardless of whether or not a patient is willing to pay for possible external services out of pocket, we do not make exceptions for this rule.

We have a lot of patients that have transferred their service over to NorCal ADHD from Kaiser. We are actually considered an out-of-network doctor. This means we don’t guarantee successful reimbursement but we will help you in every way possible to get reimbursed from Kaiser. We will provide you with superbills, fill out prior authorizations, and submit any requested paperwork your insurance company may have for us.

It is possible for our patients to have Medi-Cal and use our service. We require all patients to have health insurance to use our service because our doctor will often request services that your primary care doctor will be involved in. If you have a primary care doctor and are will to pay for our service out of pocket, it is ok for you to have Medi-Cal. Please see our pricing page
